SERRA CONQUISTADORS 34, UC CENTURIONS 7

The University City (UC) Centurions suffered a tough 34-7 loss to the Serra Conquistadors in a Western League football game at Serra on Friday, October 16. “A lot of good things are happening for our guys,” said UC coach John Hutsel. “Now, we need to get it to reflect in the win-loss column and have it show up on the scoreboard.” Against the Conquistadors, the Centurions actually did get on the scoreboard first with a 70-yard drive on the opening possession of the game. That’s when junior running back Parris Jordan jolted Serra with a 12-yard touchdown run to give UC an early 7-0 lead with 9:26 left in the first quarter. Recently, Rob Stone sat down with Francis Parker hoops coach Judy Spoelstra to discuss their upcoming league games. RS:  Who are your top players? JS: I would say right off the bat there were a couple of players that established themselves as leaders on the court. Jazzy Brooks Jay Redmond Jenell Anderson However, in the last couple of games we have had four players in double figures scoring.  Balance is great! RS:  What are the team's strengths? I would say our defense is one of our strengths. We have multiple looks that we can show and we have been able to keep teams from scoring easy buckets.
