TORREYS DESPERATELY SEEK AND GET WIN OVER EAGLES

"We've been in desperate need of a victory," said LA JOLLA COUNTRY DAY (LJCD) BOYS BASKETBALL coach RYAN MEIER after his TORREYS (10-7) defeated the SANTA FE CHRISTIAN (SFC) EAGLES, 46-43, in a non-league game at COUNTRY DAY on Wednesday night. "We came out with some intensity," said MEIER. "SANTA FE CHRISTIAN (14-6) is an amazing team. They shoot the ball really well."...MEIER on trailing by a score of 41-36 before rallying and closing the game with a 10-2 run to win it: "We could've quit.
