10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY; SAN DIEGANS SHINE IN STANFORD'S WIN VS. HUSKIES

MONTE VISTA HIGH alumnus CLINTON SNYDER had a total of nine tackles to lead the host STANFORD CARDINAL to a big 34-14 victory over the WASHINGTON HUSKIES n a PAC-10 CONFERENCE football game on Saturday, September 26. "We expected to play this way," said SNYDER (five solo tackles, four assists), a senior linebacker. "If we execute, it will happen." Another San Diegan making it happen was STANFORD freshman running back TYLER GAFFNEY. GAFFNEY, a former CATHEDRAL CATHOLIC DON, finished with six carries for 23 yards and one reception for 17 yards. Meanwhile, WASHINGTON freshman wide receiver JAMES JOHNSON (VALLEY CENTER HIGH) caught three passes for 37 yards for the HUSKIES. With the win, the CARDINAL improve their record to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. With the loss, WASHINGTON falls to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
