RSI: ROB STONE INTERVIEW WITH MILT CLARK

Recently, Rob Stone sat down with Madison hoops coach Milt Clark to discuss their upcoming league games.

RS: Who are your top players?

MC: We are fortunate enough to have a great returning class. Megan Irwin is the returning League player of the year, Cameron Smith was first team All League, Imani Moore and Kaniya Lloyd was all league selections also.

RS: What are the team's strengths?

MC: This season we have a deep team where we can go nine to ten deep. This program numbers have steady risen each year since I took over I think the Back to Back CIF tittles also played a role in it. We also have two off the top shooters in the county in Irwin and Smith, Lloyd and Moore was top of the top 5 re bounders in the County.  Once we get the pieces to all mesh we will be fun to watch.

RS: What are the weaknesses?

MC:Our youth is a weakness as we trying to teach them on the fly. Once league start I expect they will be all dialed in and we will be ready to make our run.

RS: Who are the top teams in your league?

MC: I always want to say we should win league as we did last last year but that was the first time since 1981, but we was also hit hard by the injury bug this off season. So realistically I expected us to be in the Middle of the pack. We are moving into a the always tough Eastern League with Morse, Lincoln, University City and OLP. Every game in going be a battle.

All four team in league will be tough in their own way. Morse is Probably the preseason favorite. Lincoln has added a great Coach in Lonnie Jones and OLP and UC was two of the top teams in league last season.

RS: Who are the top players in your league?

MC: Beside my girls Morse have Kyra Johnson and Tyriesha Green. Lincoln has Imani James and Maria Flores. UC and OLP are usually like us well rounded anyone can step up any given night.
